Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data

Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information to provide services and goods are:

·    Consent - we have permission from you after we gave you all the relevant information. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. To be clear, you do have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

·    Contract – we have to collect or use the information so we can enter into or carry out a contract with you. All of your data protection rights may apply except the right to object.

Retention Schedule

Present, Past & Potential Customers

I will keep your information only for as long as I require it to complete the stage of work that is applicable to you.

  • If you ask for a quote or about working together, I will use your information to provide the quote. If you decide to proceed, you become a ‘present client’ (explained below). If not, I will ask if you want to join my mailing list or get updates via email. With your consent, your information will be added to my database until you withdraw it, at which point it will be deleted.

  • Present Clients: I will keep the information needed to do the agreed work only for the time it takes to complete it. After that, you will be labeled a ‘past client’ (explained below). I will ask if you want to join my mailing list or get updates via email. With your consent, your information will be added to my database until you withdraw it, at which point it will be deleted.

  • Past Clients: I will keep the information that I am required to by HMRC (a minimum of 5 years after the 31 January submission deadline of the relevant tax year). This includes, invoice details and anything relevant to that section of our work together. After our work together, I will ask if you want to join my mailing list or get updates via email. With your consent, your information will be added to my database until you withdraw it, at which point it will be deleted once your work is out of the timeframe described above as needed by HMRC.

Mailing list subscribers

  • As soon as you unsubscribe, I will delete your contact from Mailchimp. I may keep other information as outlined above if required by HMRC.
