An Unreadable Thesis Exhibition |Frozen Light Theatre

“We are an award-winning theatre company dedicated to creating multi-sensory theatre for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).” - Frozen Light Theatre’s Website

Frozen Light got in contact with me about a sensory interactive exhibition at The Forum in Norwich. They were looking for some documentation of the event. In particular for an exhibition party. Here is a description of the event:

”An interactive exhibition that celebrates Frozen Light Theatre’s Sensory Studio.

Frozen Light's Sensory Studio is a collaborative workspace for artists with and without profound intellectual and multiple disabilities (PIMD).

Over the past two years, illustrator and PhD student Johanna Roehr has visited the studio to explore how meaning is co-constructed beyond words in this creative space. The exhibition invites you to engage with the research process and its findings on a sensory level, and to contribute your own knowledge about multimodal communication to the project.

Expect slinkies, ping pong balls, and absolutely no academic jargon. Everyone welcome!”

It was a great brief where they wanted to capture the exhibition itself alongside the interactions people were having with it. You can see how joyful it was below!

It was brilliant working with Becky who came and photographed our exhibition. She was very attentive to the needs of our work and produced beautiful photographs which we can use for years to come. Thank you
